The Braves joined forces with a team out of Texas that was run by Chris Hux, a former CNCMSBL player. The Texas team, called the Texas Red Birds, included many good players and a few former MLBers including Denis ‘Oil Can’ Boyd, and Mike Smith (Orioles). “We had a good time and we all played well,” stated Halley. The Red Birds went 3-1 and in the round robin, but lost in the semis 4-5 to a team from Puerto Rico.  “I was very proud of the way the guys played,” Halley concluded.
